Basement Carpet Cleaning in One Room in Arlington Heights, IL

About this job

The carpet in question covered one room of the basement in an Arlington Heights home — not a large space, but the kind of floor that collects traffic steadily and rarely gets attention on its own. The homeowner wanted that single room handled rather than a whole-house visit, so the work was quoted under per-area room pricing covering one or two areas. With one room on the list, the plan was straightforward from the moment we walked the space.

Cleaning was done with truck-mounted hot water extraction, the hose run down to the basement so the vacuum and solution stayed at the truck. The carpet was worked in sections across the room so nothing was left over-wet, and extraction passes were kept thorough along the traffic lanes where soil sits deepest in the pile. Air movers were set in the room afterward to push air across the carpet, which matters more in a basement than it does upstairs.

Carpet cleaned this way dries in 2-4 hours with air movers, and up to 6 hours for heavy soil, so the homeowner was told to leave the movers running and keep traffic light until the pile felt dry to the hand. The total for the visit was $180.
