About this job

The upholstery in this Chicago home carried the kind of soiling that builds slowly — seat cushions and arms on two sofas and a sectional piece, plus six linen dining chairs that had collected food traffic around the table. A wool area rug in the same space had a coffee spot on a light ground. The customer wanted the whole group handled in one visit, and asked that we come and go through the loading dock and service elevator.

Every upholstered piece was checked against its fabric code before anything wet touched it, then cleaned by hot water extraction. The two sofas, the sectional piece and the six linen dining chairs were worked section by section so the seams and arm fronts got the same attention as the open cushion faces. The wool rug was cleaned on site with our truck-mounted equipment, and the coffee spot was treated separately during that pass rather than left to the general cleaning.

After cleaning, protector was applied as the customer had requested. Upholstery dries in 4-8 hours; carpet dries in 2-4 hours with air movers, up to 6 hours for heavy soil. The crew was on site about 7 hours from first setup to the last piece groomed, and the customer paid $1,010 for the visit.

Questions about upholstery cleaning in Chicago

Upholstery dries in 4-8 hours. Carpet dries in 2-4 hours with air movers, and up to 6 hours where soil is heavy. Airflow in the room helps the fabric reach that window.

Yes. This wool rug was cleaned on site with our truck-mounted equipment, so it stayed in the home through the whole visit. On-site cleaning suits rugs that can be worked and dried in place.

Always. Every piece here was checked against its fabric code before cleaning, including the six linen dining chairs, and then cleaned by hot water extraction. The code tells us what the fabric can take.

We treat the spot as its own step rather than relying on the general cleaning pass, which gives the best chance on a light ground. Results depend on the fiber, the age of the spill and anything applied to it earlier. Call our Chicago office at (773) 997-1807 to book.
