About this job
A large sectional sofa was the whole of the day's work at a Lincoln Square home. The customer had asked only that we call when we were on the way, and the booking was simple: one sectional piece, cleaned in place. Sectionals take up most of a living room and absorb most of its daily use, so they tend to be the piece a household notices before anything else in the house.
Before any water went on the upholstery, our tech located the manufacturer's tag and read the fabric code, which decides whether a piece can take a wet clean at all. With that confirmed, the sectional was cleaned by hot water extraction, worked panel by panel across the body, arms, back and cushions so the moisture stayed even rather than pooling in one section.
The visit ran about two hours from setup to the final pass, and the job total for the day came to $240. We left the sectional damp to the touch rather than wet, with a dry time of 4-8 hours depending on airflow in the room. The customer was advised to keep the cushions in place and let air move freely around the piece until it finished drying.

Scope of work
Questions about upholstery cleaning in Lincoln Square
Upholstery dry time on this job was 4-8 hours. Airflow makes the difference, so leaving cushions in place and letting air move around the piece helps it finish on the shorter end of that range.
The manufacturer's tag tells us whether a fabric can take water-based cleaning, a solvent method, or vacuuming only. We read that code first on this Lincoln Square sectional, then chose hot water extraction because the fabric allowed it.
Sectionals are cleaned where they sit. We work around the piece panel by panel, so the sections stay assembled and in position through the visit.
This one-sectional job ran about two hours on site, including setup and the final pass. Larger jobs with several pieces take longer. Call our Chicago office at (773) 997-1807 to book.
