The basement had already been through flood water damage cleaning by the time we arrived, and the rest of the house was due for attention. The homeowner wanted the carpeted stairs handled, one spot looked at, and the custom made wool pieces in the living room and master addressed. Those rugs were cut and fitted wall to wall, which meant they had to be cleaned in place rather than taken out, and wool sets its own rules on moisture and chemistry.
Twelve stairs were cleaned from the top down, with the treads and nosings worked individually since that is where traffic soil concentrates. The single spot was pre-treated and worked before the general cleaning pass, and pet stain and odor treatment was applied where the homeowner pointed it out. For the wool, we kept the solution and rinse controlled so the fiber was not overwetted, following the shape of the custom fit through the living room and master.
Carpet dry time is 2-4 hours with air movers, up to 6 hours for heavy soil, and we set airflow across the stairs and both wool areas before leaving. The homeowner was walked through the cleaned stairs, the treated spot and the rug surfaces. The total for the visit was $723.60.
