About this job
The job was booked as carpet, upholstery and area rug work, but the wool rug had already been picked up five days earlier, so the visit covered the carpet and the dining chairs. Spread across 1,500 square feet plus the hallways, the carpet showed the usual pattern in a busy house: open areas in reasonable shape, with darker lanes worn into the main walking routes. The four dining chairs carried the kind of general soiling that builds up around a table used every day.
Carpet work started with the traffic paths, which were given a pass with the counter-rotating brush to lift the matted pile and break up dry soil before extraction. After cleaning, the lanes were still visible, so the technician went back over them with the CRB a second time and re-cleaned those sections rather than leaving them as they were. The hallways were treated the same way, since narrow runs take the heaviest footfall in a home like this.
The four dining chairs were cleaned after the carpet so nothing was tracked back over finished floors. The wool rug was handled off-site following its earlier pickup. Total for the visit was $950. The customer wrote afterward: "Vasyl was great and wanted to make sure everything was done right and clean! The whole team was great to deal with. This is a family owned business and they care about customers".

Scope of work
Questions about carpet cleaning in Northbrook
Carpet dries in 2-4 hours with air movers, and up to 6 hours for heavy soil. Upholstery such as the dining chairs takes 4-8 hours. Keeping air moving through the rooms helps the shorter end of those ranges.
Lanes that get walked daily can take permanent wear to the fiber, where the pile is abraded rather than just soiled. On this job the paths were brushed with the CRB and cleaned a second time, and some shading remained afterward. We tell customers plainly when wear, not dirt, is what they are seeing.
Wool often does better off-site, where it can be handled and dried under controlled conditions. On this job the rug was picked up five days before the carpet appointment and cleaned separately, so the in-home visit covered carpet and the dining chairs only.
Yes, and we usually do the carpet first so nothing gets tracked back across finished areas. Here, four dining chairs were cleaned after the 1,500 square feet of carpet and hallways. Call our Northbrook office at (847) 994-1171 to book.
